Conference
With two sessions a year, our members are given opportunities to further their education and network with not only other fire inspectors in the province but also individuals involved in fire safety.
Bylaws
These were originally passed at our annual general meeting held in Halifax on May 2014, and then amended on October 2021.

President’s Message
As the weather moves to spring, FIANS is coming to the end of it’s first and only fast track Professional Education Programming (PEP) course offerings. The spring conference being held the week of May 3rd at the Inverary Inn will see the completion of the cycle. That being said, we will be running 4 courses in June for those that had conflicts at the fall 2025 and spring 2026 conferences.
The fast track programming has been extremely successfully and we are hoping to keep that momentum going as we move to the new PEP Level 1 programming which will start in September 2026. Details will be provided in the fullness of time on dates and location for the offerings through to June 2027…

Fast Track
All classes are scheduled to be held at the Office of the Fire Marshal in Dartmouth (250 Baker Drive – Entrance C – Second floor). All classes will be 3 days in duration and will comprise 2.5 days of learning and an exam on the final afternoon.
