Josh Chisling, CFI
Fire Inspector Town of Truro
Josh joined the fire service in 1991 and began his career in 1996 with the Town of Truro Fire Service. Throughout his career, he has been an active member in a number of organizations including the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1627 where he served on their Executive Board as Secretary for over 7 years, Shop Steward and is currently the President of the Local. Participating in the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee for the Town of Truro as Secretary for a number of consecutive years, the importance of proper minute taking, organization and access to information to provide to memberships was learned and appreciated. Currently, Josh is the Level one Certified Municipal Fire Inspector for the Town of Truro, currently attaining Level two through FIANS.
Having completed post-secondary education at Henson College, Dalhousie University, Josh has earned a number of Certificates including an Advanced Certificate in Fire Service Administration – Operational Planning, one in which ensures competency in the understanding of an effective organizational structure and an informed and active membership.
Josh is an active member within the Fire Service and the community, has 2 children and is a single Dad. Through a career of dedicated service to the fire service and community, the opportunity to serve further in a progressive and evolving Association, FIANS, is a welcomed opportunity for Josh.
